- 1 skein Scheepjes stonewashed moon
- leftover black yarn
- 1 skein Scheepjes colour crafter red (Maastricht)

Attention
This singing Christmas bear crochet pattern is made in continuous rounds. You don’t have to close the rounds.
Singing christmas bear crochet pattern
Ear

Fasten off and crochet another round in the same way. Place the two ear rounds together, with the right sides on the outside.
Crochet them together around and increase to 18 stitches: 2 sc, 1 inc. Repeat around.
Attention: crochet in the outer loops in 1 ear round and use both loops of the other ear round.
Crochet another another ear in the same way.
Snout
Use stonewashed moon and crochet hook 3 mm.

Place the nose just above the magic ring, on the short side. Fasten off and leave a sewing tail. Embroider a mouth, like shown in the picture below.

Placing eyes and snout
Don’t fasten off. Stuff the snout lightly and sew on the head, between row 11 and 23.
Embroider the eyes and the eyebrows, like shown in the picture.
Sew on the ears to the sides of the head, between round 7 and 11.
Body
Use stonewashed moon and crochet hook size 3 mm. Continue from the head.

Right leg
Use stonewashed moon and crochet hook 3 mm.
Pick up the bear, with its face towards you. Determine the middle of its body, on the frontside.
Place a stitch marker in that stitch. Count another 20 stitches to the right and place a stitch marker in the 20th stitch. Now you have 21 stitches. These are the stitches we’ll use for the right leg.
Attach the yarn to the 11th stitch (that’s on the side of the body)and crochet 10 sc. In the next stitch you’ll find a stitch marker. Remove it and crochet a sc. Go straight to the next marker, remove it and crochet a sc in that stitch. Crochet another 9 sc. You’ve reached the first stitch and have crocheted 21 single crochets.
Crochet another 5 rounds with 21 sc.
Stuff the body as you go. Then crochet:

Left leg
Use stonewashed moon and crochet hook size 3 mm.
Attach the yarn in the middle of the other side of the body. Crochet 21 sc, using the remaining stitches.
Crochet another 5 rounds with 21 sc.

You’ll have a little gap between the legs. Use some sewing stitches to close is. Weave in the ends.

Don’t stuff the arm any further. Fold the sides of the top together and close with 6 sc. Sew the arm on the side of the body, right below the head. Crochet another arm and sew on the other side of the body.

Cut the yarn and attach a sewing needle. Pull the needle through the 12 outer loops and pull the thread to close the gap. Sew on the pompon to the top of the hat. Fold the top of the hat to the side and sew together.

Now we’ll make the armholes.
- Make 8 sc, then chain 9. Skip the next 5 stitches. Crochet a sc in the next 17 stitches. Then chain 9. Skip another 5 stitches. Sc in the next 13 stitches.
- Make 8 sc, then make a sc in each of the 9 loops of the chain. Sc in the next 17 stitches, sc in each of the 9 loops. Sc in the last 13 stitches. Then you have a total of 56 stitches.
- 7 sc, 1 inc. Repeat around and end with an sc in the last 2 stitches.
- Change to white yarn.
- 3 hdc, 1 dec, 3 hdc. Repeat around end end with a hdc in the last 2 stitches. Fasten off.
Attach to an armhole, using red yarn and crochet around : 7 sc, 1 inc. At the end of the round you’ll have 18 stitches.
Crochet another 8 rounds, with 1 sc in each stitch around. Then change to white yarn.
Crochet another round, 1 hdc in each st around. Fasten off and repeat for the other armhole.
Book
Cut out 2 pieces of cardboard, size 8 by 5 cm. Cut out 8 pieces of colored paper, size 7 by 4 cm.
Crease the cardboard in the middle. Also crease the pieces of paper in the middle.
Sew them together.
Use dark green yarn and crochet hook size 3 mm, to make the cover.
- Crochet a chain that’s a little longer than the short side of the book. Add an extra chain.
- Crochet a sc in the second chain from the hook and a sc in the other chains. Chain 1 and turn.
- Crochet a sc in each stitch, chain 1 and turn. Repeat until your patch measures about 16 cm.
Fold the sides to the inside, like shown in the picture and use sc to crochet the right tops together. Crochet an sc and then crochet the left tops together.
Put the book in the cover and then close the bottom in the same way.
Sew on the book to the bear’s arms.
