Welcome at this scrunchie crochet pattern. When I was a teenager, scrunchies were cool. I had plenty! After that they disappeared, but I’m happy to see they’re back! (In the Netherlands anyway).
My daughter likes them and requested a crocheted one. Well, here it is!
You can choose any yarn you like. I used Scheepjes Roma yarn and hook size 4 mm. I also used a local yarn. Just check the advised hook size on the label and take half a size bigger. You’ll also need a hair elastic.

Scrunchie crochet pattern
Crochet a round of single crochets around the elastic. Close with a slip stitch.
Crochet in each stitch: double crochet, chain 1, double crochet, chain 1. Close with a slip stitch. Go to the first chain stitch.
Crochet in each chain space: double crochet, chain 1, double crochet, chain 1. Close with a slip stitch. Fasten off and weave in the ends.
