Materials
1 skein dk weight acrylic pink yarn
Leftover yarn: white, blue, black and red.
Piece of fabric.
pompom
Hook size 5 mm

Abbreviations (US)
st = stitch
sl st = slip stitch
ch = chain
sc = single crochet
hdc = half double crochet
dc = double crochet
fpdc = front post double crochet

Begin each round with chain 3, that’s your first dc of the round. Each round of the beanie is closed with a sl st in the third loop of the ch3 you made at the beginning of that round.

If you want to make a smaller hat, you can stop the increasing when the desired diameter is reached. Continue with round 7.
If you want to make a bigger hat, continue increasing after round 6 until you reach the desired diameter. Then continue with round 7.

Round 1 Magic ring with 12 dc
Round 2 2 dc in each st (24)
Round 3 dc ; 2 dc in the next; all around  (36)
Round 4 2 dc ; 2 dc in the next; all around (48)
Round 5 3 dc ; 2 dc in the next; all around (60)
Round 6 4 dc ; 2 dc in the next;  all around (72)
Round 7 – 13 1 dc in each st al around (72)
 The beanie measures about 15 cm from the top.
Round 14 4 dc ; 2 dc together; all around (60)
Round 15  1 dc ; 1 fpdc ;all around
Round 16 Repeat round 15
Round 17 1 sc in each st. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Eyes
The eyes are made in continuous rounds. Do not close the rounds.

 Round 1 Use black yarn: magic ring with 6 sc (6)
 Round 2 2 sc in each st (12)
 Round 3 1 sc ; 2 sc in the next ;  all around (18)
 Round 4 Use blue yarn: 3 sc; 2 sc in next; 3 hdc – 2 hdc in next;
 3 hdc – 2 hdc in next;  *3 sc – 2 sc in next ;
 repeat from * twice.
 Change to white yarn.
 Round 5 4 sc; 2 sc in next; 4 hdc; 2 hdc in next; 4 hdc ;
 2 hdc in next; *4 sc – 2 sc in next;
 Repeat from * twice.

Fasten off and leave a long sewing tail.

Embroider the dots with white yarn, like shown in the picture. The left dot is made with 3 stitches. The two dots on the right are made with two stitches. Make sure the side with the half double crochets is at the bottom.

Eyelid

Round 1  Use pink yarn and chain 11.
Round 2  Turn, sc  in 2nd loop from the hook.
Sc in the next 9 loops  (10)
Round 3 Turn, ch 1; sc in the 10 stitches  (10)
Round 4 Turn, ch 1; 2 sc together; sc in next 6 stitches;
 2 2c together (8)
Round 5 Turn, ch 1; sc in next 8 stitches (8)
Round 6 Turn, ch 1; 2 sc together; sc in next 4 stitches;
 2 sc together (6)
Round 7 Turn, ch 1; 2 sc together; sc in next 2 stitches;
2 sc together (4)
Crochet a round of sc around the eyelid.

Fasten off and leave a sewing tail.
Mouth

Round 1 Use red yarn, chain 7
Round 2 Turn ; sv in 2nd loop from the hook;
sc in next 5 loops (6)
Round 3 Turn; ch 1; skip first stitch;
Sc in next 5 stitches (5)
Round 4 Turn; ch 1; skip first stitch;
Sc in next 4 stitches (4)
Round 5 Turn; ch 1; skip first stitch;
Sc in next 3 stitches (3)
Round 6 Turn; ch 1; skip first stitch;
Sc in next 2 stitches (2)
Crochet a round of sc around the mouth.

Sew the eyes and the mouth to the beanie like shown in the pictures. Sew the eyelids like shown in the picture and embroider the lines of the mouth.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cut two little hearts and sew them on the hat. Attach a pompom to the top of the hat.
