Octopus crochet pattern

Materials

  • 1 skein Catania 408 (light pink)
  • 1 skein Catania 222 (bright pink)
  • 1 skein Catania 172 (grey)
  • 1 skein Catania 110 (black)
  • 1 pair of safety eyes 12 mm
  • fibre fill
  • crochet hook size 2.5 mm

Abbreviations U.S.

  • mr = magic ring
  • ch = chain
  • st = stitch
  • sc = single crochet
  • sl st = slip stitch
  • hdc = half double crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • inc = increase (2 stitches in 1 stitch)
  • dec = decrease (2 stitches together)

Place the eyes between round 17
and 23 with 6 sc between them.
Use black to embroider the mouth and the
eyelashes. Use bright pink to make the cheeks.

Fasten off. Use a needle and take the yarn through the 12 outer loops. Pull to close the gap.

Use bright pink and attach to one of the outer loops from round 29. Crochet in each stitch around: dc, ch 1, dc, ch 1. Close with a slip stitch and fasten off.

Tentacles

Crochet 4 tentacles with light pink yarn, 2 with grey and 2 with black yarn.

  1. Chain 51
  2. Crochet a sc in the 2nd chain from the hook. 2 sc in the next. Continu like this: 1 sc in the next, 2 sc in the next until you reach the end of the chain.
  3. Fasten off and leave a sewing tail.
  4. Sew the tentacles onto the bottom of the octopus.
