Welcome at this chicken and her little chicks crochet pattern. Don’t they look adorable together? Nice for Easter, or just to get that spring feeling.
I used a thin mohair thread, combined with Scheepjes Catona. For a fluffy result. You can also only use cotton if you like.

Materials
- Scheepjes Catona white (nr 105, 50 grams)
- Scheepjes Catona yellow (nr 522, 25 grams)
- Scheepjes Catona orange (nr 189, 25 grams)
- leftover red cotton
- Scheepjes Mohair Rhytm, white and yellow (nr 690, 688)
- 2 pairs of safety eyes 5 mm
- 1 pair of safety eyes 8 mm
- fibre fill
- crochet hook size 2.5 mm
Abbreviations U.S.
- mr = magic ring
- ch = chain
- st = stitch
- sc = single crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- inc = increase (2 stitches in 1 stitch)
- dec = decrease (2 stitches together)
Attention:

Little chick
For one chick I used yellow catona and yellow mohair rhythm. The other one is made with yellow catona and white mohair rhythm.

Don’t fasten off. Place the 5 mm eyes between round 7 and 8, with about 3 stitches between them. Embroider the beak with orange yarn, like shown in the picture.

Fasten off. Use an needle to weave the end of the yarn through the 12 outer loops and pull to close the gap. Weave in the ends.

- 2 sc in each st around (12)
- Fasten off
Crochet another foot and sew them to the body like shown in the picture.

Fold the top together and close with 3 or 4 sc. Fasten off and leave a sewing tail. Crochet another wing and sew on the sides of the body.

Comb
- Use red yarn. Crochet a mr with 3 sc. Ch 1 and turn.
- 2 sc in each st (6) Ch 1 and turn.
- 3* (sc, inc) (9). Fasten off.
- Crochet another mr with 3 sc. Ch 1 and turn.
- 2 sc in each st (6).
- Continue on the bottom and crochet 3 or 4 sc.
- Pick up the other half round and crochet 5 or 6 sc on the bottom.
- Go to the top and crochet in each stitch: 1 sc, chain 1. Do the same in the smaller round and close with a slip stitch in the first stitch on the bottom. Fasten off and sew on to the head of the chicken.
