It’s almost October, Halloween time! I made these cute spiders for decoration and like to share this little spider crochet pattern with you. I used a knitting spool to make the legs, but you can also crochet them.
- 1 skein Schachenmayr Catania cotton (or any other yarn that goes with a 2.5 mm crochet hook)
- 1 pair of safety eyes 8 mm
- fibre fill
- crochet hook size 2.5 mm
- knitting spool
- mr = magic ring
- ch = chain
- st = stitch
- sc = single crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- inc = increase (2 stitches in 1 stitch)
- dec = decrease (2 stitches together)
This little spider crochet pattern is made in continuous rounds. Don’t close the rounds.

|16||6* (2 sc, inc, 2 sc)||36|
|17||6* (5 sc, inc)||42|
|18||6* (3 sc, inc, 3 sc)||48|
|Stuff the head and continue:|
|19-26||1 sc in each st around||48|

|28||6* (5 sc, dec)||36|
|Stuff the body as you go.|
|29||6* (2 sc, dec, 2 sc)||30|
|30||6* (3 sc, dec)||24|
|31||6* (sc, dec, sc)||18|
Fasten off. Take the yarn through the 12 outer loops and pull to close the gap. Weave in the end.
Use a knitting spool and French knit a rope that’s about 10 cm long. Make 8 in total. Sew them to the body and use about 1 cm for that, like shown in the picture.
If you want to crochet the legs make a mr with 6 sc. The next round you crochet: 3* (sc, inc). You’ ll have 9 sc. Crochet more rounds with 9 sc until you reach the desired length.
Your spider is finished now. You can attach a piece of yarn so you can hang it up. Or you just place it somewhere.
