Today we’ll make kitten 2 and some parts of the mother.

Head kitten 2

Round 1	crochet a magic ring with 6 st (6)
Round 2	2 sc in each st (12)
Round 3	1 sc then 2 sc in next st (18)
Round 4	sc in next 2 st then 2 sc in next st (24)
Round 5	1 sc in each st (24)
Round 6	1 sc in next 3 st then 2 sc in next st (30)
Round 7	12 sc purple; 18 sc white
Round 8	inc in each 5th st; 13 sc purple; 23 sc white (36)
Round 9	2 sc white; 9 sc purple; 25 sc white (36)
Round 10	13 sc purple; 21 sc white; 2 sc purple
	Continue with purple:
Round 11-12	1 sc in each st (36)
Round 13	(1 ls in next 4 st – 1 dec) all around (30)
Round 14	1 sc in each st (30)
Round 15	(1 ls in next 3 st – 1 dec) all around (24)
Round 16	(1 ls in next 2 st – 1 dec) all around (18)

Fasten off, leave a sewing tail. Stuff the head.

Body kitten 2

White eye spot 2x

Round 1	crochet a magic ring with 6 st (6)
Round 2	2 sc in each st around (12)
Round 3	1 sc in each st around (12)

Place the safety eyes (black, 6 mm) through the spots and sew the spots to the head between round 7 and 11 Embroider the nose, eyebrows and the mouth like shown in the picture. Use white embroidery yarn.

Sew the head to the body.

Ears kitten 2 

Ear 1 , use white yarn:

Round 1	crochet a magic ring with 6 st (6)
Round 2	1 sc then 2 sc in next st (9)
Round 3	1 sc in each st (9)
Round 4	2 sc then 2 sc in next st (12)
Round 5	3 sc then 2 sc in next st (15)
Round 6	1 sc in each st (15)

Ear 2: use white yarn for rounds 1 – 3; use purple yarn for rounds 4 -6.
Fold the bottom of the ears together and close them with 7 single crochets. Leave a sewing tail.
Sew the ears to the head on round 3 and 8 like shown in the picture.

Paw (make 4)

Round 1	crochet a magic ring with 6 st (6)
Round 2	2 sc in each st (12)
Round 3	1 sc in each st(12) Change to purple yarn.
Round 4	1 sc in each st (12)
Round 5	(1 ls in next 4 st – 1 dec) all around (10)
Round 6-9	1 sc in each st(10)

Don’t stuff the paws and close the bottom with 5 sc. Leave a sewing tail. Attach the paws to the body like shown in the pictures.

  

Tail kitten 2

Round 1	Use purple and crochet a magic ring with 6 st (6)
Round 2	2 sc in each st (12)
Round 3-4	1 sc in each st (12)
Round 5	(1 ls in next 4 st – 1 dec) all around (10)
Round 6-7	1 sc in each st (10). Change to purple.
Round 8-10	1 sc in each st (10). Change to white.
Round 11-12	1 sc in each st (10). Change to purple.
Round 13-15	1 sc in each st (10). Change to white.
Round 16-17	1 sc in each st (10). Change to purple.
Round 18-20	1 sc in each st (10).

Cut a piece of pipe cleaner that’s a bit smaller than the tail. Put it in the tail. Close the taille with 5 sc. Leave a sewing tail and attach the tail to the body like shown in the picture.

Kitten 2 is finished! Let’s continue with the mother.

Round 1	2 dc in 3rd chain from the hook; hdc in next 2
	chains; 2 hdc in last ch. Ch 2 and turn (6)
Round 2	2 hdc in 1st st; hdc in next 4 stitches;
	2 hdc in last st. Ch 2 and turn (8)
Round 3	2 hdc in 1st st; hdc in next 6 stitches;
	2 hdc in last st. Ch 2 and turn (10)
Round 4	2 hdc in 1st st; hdc in next 8 stitches;
	2 hdc in last st. Ch 2 and turn (12)
Round 5	2 hdc in 1st st; hdc in next 10 stitches;
	2 hdc in last st. Ch 2 and turn (14)
Round 6-10	1 hdc in each st. Ch 2 and turn.
Round 11	2 hdc together; hdc in next 10 st;
	2 hdc together.  Ch 2 and turn (12)

Crochet a round of sc around the edge of the spot. Fasten off and leave a sewing tail.
