Welcome at this scrunchie crochet pattern. When I was a teenager, scrunchies were cool. I had plenty! After that they disappeared, but I’m happy to see they’re back! (In the Netherlands anyway).

My daughter likes them and requested a crocheted one. Well, here it is!

You can choose any yarn you like. I used Scheepjes Roma yarn and hook size 4 mm. I also used a local yarn. Just check the advised hook size on the label and take half a size bigger. You’ll also need a hair elastic.

Scrunchie crochet pattern

  1. Crochet a round of single crochets around the elastic. Close with a slip stitch.

  2. Crochet in each stitch: double crochet, chain 1, double crochet, chain 1. Close with a slip stitch. Go to the first chain stitch.

  3. Crochet in each chain space: double crochet, chain 1, double crochet, chain 1. Close with a slip stitch. Fasten off and weave in the ends.

Your scrunchie is ready! I hope you enjoyed this pattern. I know I’ll be crocheting a lot of these scrunchies these next weeks.
